We’re all desperate to see the sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s cult wannabe superhero caper, KICK-ASS, right? Of course we are because the original was such a blast. KICK-ASS 2 is just around the corner and although it’s taken quite sometime to come to fruition as Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloe Grace Moretz both return as the green-hooded heroic title character and his foul-mouthed female sidekick, Hit Girl.
This latest clip sees the first ever meeting of the crusading gang of renegade superheroes, which includes the aforementioned duo, as well as Jim Carrey’s Colonel Stars & Stripes.
Jeff Wadlow takes over Vaughn as writer/director of the film, which is again based on the comic book created by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Lyndsy Fonseca, Yancy Butler, Donald Faison, John Leguizamo, Lindy Booth and Olga Kurkulina co-star. It lands in US cinemas from 16th August and the UK two days earlier.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
