Michael Bay doesn’t seem the type of filmmaker that’s bothered about what the critics say about his films. When your titles are consistently making billions for studios, why care? Saying that, the fact-based crime-comedy PAIN & GAIN garnered Bay the finest reviews of his career when the film was released earlier this year in US. The frenetically paced thriller may have received criticism for its comic approach in a real-life crime that involved extortion, kidnapping and murder but it’s said to follow close to the actual events.
Dwayne Johnson, Anthony Mackie and Mark Wahlberg (currently reuniting with Bay on TRANSFORMERS 4) play a trio of roid-raging bodybuilders, whose get rich quick scheme backfires with fatal results. PAIN & GAIN hits UK cinemas from 30th August and here is the UK one-sheet.
