DiCaprio, Greengrass & Lehane Finally Move Forward On ‘Travis McGee’

Leonardo Dicaprio

A big-screen adaptation of the first John D. MacDonald’s series of novels to feature the character Travis McGee has been in the works for quite some time now. Leonardo DiCaprio has been set to star in (and produce) 20th Century Fox’s simply-titled TRAVIS MCGEE since 2009 but the project is finally moving forward with THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM and UNITED 93’s Paul Greengrass directing. The film will mark the first time DiCaprio and Lehane have collaborated since Martin Scorsece’s SHUTTER ISLAND, after the author adapted his own best-seller for the big-screen.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
