Not content with previously aiding Abraham Lincoln in lopping the heads off the creatures of the night, Dominic Cooper has joined the cast of Universal’s ultimate bloodsucker origin tale, DRACULA. The British MAMMA MIA and CAPTAIN AMERICA actor will co-star in the supernatural thriller being led by Luke Evans.

The film will chart how the good-hearted Prince Vlad sacrificed everything to save his family and was ultimately transformed into the iconic and immortal evil vampire, so vividly brought to life in Bram Stoker’s novel.

DRACULA will also star David Cronenberg regular Sarah Gadon with Gary Shore directing. The project, known until recently as DRACULA: YEAR ZERO, has a release slated for 8th August 2014.

As ever, we’ll keep you posted as more casting is confirmed.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
