ZERO DARK THIRTY’s Oscar-nominated actress Jessica Chastain is in final negotiations to join Christopher Nolan’s mysterious sci-fi thriller, INTERSTELLAR. If a deal is reached she’s appear as the third lead character opposite the already confirmed Anne Hathaway and the reinvigorated Matthew McConaghey, who, during the last few years, has left the woeful rom-com genre to finally fulfil the promise he showed in A TIME TO KILL and AMISTAD.
Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros are collaborating after the project was originally due to shoot in 2006 with Steven Spielberg. Jonathan Nolan was then hired to pen the screenplay inspired by Caltech physicist and relativity expert Kip S. Thorne’s theories that wormholes exist and can be manipulated for time travel. When the project failed to take off a number of years ago, a recent window of opportunity and the sibling link led to THE DARK KNIGHT director taking the reigns.
We’re excited. Are you?

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
