George Clooney & ‘Argo’ Writer To Team Up For ‘Coronado High’

NY: Portrait Of George Clooney

Joshuah Bearman is not necessarily a name that will ring a bell with most people, yet he was the person behind the arguably most succesful film of 2012, ARGO. Bearman’s article in ‘Wired’ regarding the unlikely escape plan was the basis for Ben Affleck’s Oscar winning film and now it looks like he could be behind another big one. ARGO producer George Clooney is reportedly eyeing an article that Bearman is writing about teenagers smuggling drugs in the California town, Coronado.

The article is not out yet and therefore the details about the project is a bit scarce, but Clooney and producing partner Grant Heslov looks set to snap up the rights with Clooney initially slated to direct. It will be produced through Clooney & Heslov’s Smoke House production company as well as Sony Pictures. It’s hard to really comment one way or another regarding this, however Clooney usually picks really good projects to take on so it seems like this could potentially be another award heavy film if done right. We will update you on any news regarding the film as they break.
