Michael Fassbender is to take the lead in a new adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic, MACBETH.
**UPDATE** Click HERE to see who ‘s playing Lady Macbeth!!
The big-willied thespian will be following in the footsteps of his X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST co-stars James McAvoy and Sir Ian McKellen in playing the tragic Scottish lord. He’ll be reuniting with the producers of SHAME, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman, and will be directed by Justin Kurzel. It’ll be set the 11th Century, using the Bard’s original text, containing the visceral battle scenes as they were intended.
So, who do we fancy as Lady Macbeth? I could have phrased that better. Who do we think should play her? The defining performance for many is that of Judi Dench, who (to paraphrase Louis Walsh) made the part her own, opposite Sir Ian McKellen (who also played Magneto, like Fassbender). Our money is on Rachel Weisz, but then we’d cast her in everything. Maybe Eva Green? How’s about Carey Mulligan or Elisabeth Moss? Give us your thoughts below.
We are very much looking forward to Fassbender’s take on one of theatre’s greatest anti-heroes. And I would.

Eva Green as Lady Macbeth would be great but perhaps still too young for that role. Carey Mulligan certainly way to young and too childish looking.
