While initially Dreamworks’ TURBO looks like one of those animations directed towards the younger viewer – don’t say they all are – once you’ve watched the trailer here, you might think again! In something that feels like the merging of Pixar’s CARS into A BUG’S LIFE, they’ve got themselves an interesting concept over a snail that just wants to race.
In the true honour of any lead character with a dream, his speed powers come to him after an accident but can he still live his life, and be the fastest snail in the…garden? Okay, whatever outcome will be bigger than that when the film arrives, you know there will be a villain to beat but this might be to keep an eye out for youngsters and older folk a-like. TURBO is released in the UK on 18th October and in the USA on 17th July, we’re not sure of why there’s such a large break but I’ve got a feeling there’s a half-term in October. It stars the voices of Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Michael Pena, Luis Guzmán, Bill Hader, Richard Jenkins, Ken Jeong, Michelle Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph and Snoop Dogg.
