This summer could be a monster one for film fans and those studios hoping the score a monster payload. Speaking of ‘monsters’, Guillermo del Toro’s giant monsters (Kaiju) verses giant machines (Jaeger’s) action horror mash-up, PACIFIC RIM, is expected to do very well following high-praise in a number of secret preview screenings. The film will see Earth come under a attack and left decimated when a quake opens up a gateway for prehistoric creatures to unleash their ferocity. It’s up to mankind to fight back with their own mechanical abominations!
The cast includes Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Max Martini, Robert Kazinsky, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Diego Klattenhoff, and Brad William Henke. It hits cinemas from 12th July 12. Check out the first television spot!
