Revisit Ealing Through ‘The Ealing Studios Rarities Collection Volume 1’

The Ealing Studios Rarities Collection Volume 1

Everybody loves a good Ealing comedy and nothing beats a bit of black and white. Luckily for fans of ‘the good ol’ days’, Network Distributing have been let into the vaults of Ealing and Associated Talking Pictures to gather together some of the original films from the studio to release on DVD.

With features from some of the best in the business, The Ealing Studios Rarities Collection Volume 1 will kick-off with some classic titles, including:

  • ESCAPE (Basil Dean, 1930)
  • WEST OF ZANZIBAR (Harry Watt, 1954)
  • PENNY PARADISE (Carol Reed, 1938)
  • CHEER UP! (Leo Mittler, 1936)

The Ealing Studios Rarities Collection Volume 1 (2-disc) will be released from Monday 8th April (RRP £14.99). You can visit the official Facebook site here and Twitter here. Check out a clip from CHEER UP! below.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
