Visionary director Guillermo del Toro’s PACIFIC RIM will be unleashed in cinemas this summer, and is shaping up to be one the most anticipated blockbusters of the year. The film sees a host of enormous creatures, known as Kaiju, begin rising from the sea, wreaking havoc and devastation on the world. It’s left to mankind to devise their very own type of weapon to fight back – equally massive robots, named Jaeger’s, which are piloted by humans.
Opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on the 12th July, PACIFIC RIM stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins, Jr., and Burn Gorman, and here we have promo banner of main Jaeger ‘Gipsy Danger.’
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
