Despite a disappointing box-office return with JACK REACHER (an action film I bloody loved and one that’s surely destined for cult status), superstar acting icon, Tom Cruise, will be back on the big-screen this summer. OBLIVION will see Cruise collaborate with TRON: LEGACY director Joseph Kosinski, as his Jack Harper is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on a dying future Earth. He’s part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying alien race, known as Scav’s.
His mission has him living in and patrolling the stunning skies from thousands of feet above. However, his existence is dealt a crushing blow when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows about the history of Earth, that soon puts the fate of humanity in his hands.
Check out this latest stunning trailer and new image from the film co-starring Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Melissa Leo and lands in cinemas on the 12th April.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
