In our new “Hollywood, get your own ideas!” segment, it has been revealed that Sony are planning to rework Charles Dickens’ OLIVER TWIST into a heist movie.
The movie, which will be named DODGE AND TWIST, is set to take Oliver Twist and Artful Dodger and show them 20 years on as pickpocketing rivals who come together to steal the crown jewels. Cole Haddon, the creator of the upcoming TV series DRACULA, will be penning the script. However the script is not based on the the novel of the same name by Tony Lee, but instead is based on a idea by producer Ahmet Zappa.
Sony has reportedly fast tracked the project, so there should be more news on the project soon. In the meantime, we gotta pick a pocket or two…
