After last night’s breaking news surrounding the confirmation that Disney are working on a set of stand-alone features as well as a new trilogy, we are getting word on two of those projects other than the J.J. Abrams-directed STAR WARS: EPISODE VII.
While it was rumoured well before the recent prequel trilogy, we can now confirm that cult favourite Boba Fett will make one of their spin-offs dedicated to the intergalactic bounty hunter, previously played by Jeremy Bulloch.
Perhaps more excitingly, Harrison Ford’s loveable rogue and Millennium Falcon-flyer (who most definitely shot first) Han Solo, will see his early years brought to the big screen, which will tell the story of how he and the hulking Wookie, Chewbacca, became loyal best buds and should also run into a rather chubby loan-shark named Jabba The Hut.
We await confirmation but rumours also suggest that old boy Yoda is also set to get his own spin-off, the force is strong with this one!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
