Triggerfish’s Debut ‘Zambezia’ Nominated In Coveted Animation Awards

KaiEzee

We’re excited to report that Triggerfish Animation’s debut feature ‘ADVENTURES IN ZAMBEZIA’ has been nominated for two coveted ‘Annie’ awards – it’s the animation industry’s version of the Oscars and the team are, quite rightfully, thrilled to be up against the likes of WRECK-IT RALPH, BRAVE, FRANKENWEENIE and more!

It’s the first time a studio in Africa has made the prestigious shortlist – and follows the earlier accolade of ‘Zambezia’ making it onto the official Oscar nomination shortlist, for the animation that includes Samuel L. Jackson, Jeff Goldblum, Abigail Breslin and Leonard Nimoy all voicing characters.  Executive Producer and head of the South African-based studio, Stuart Forrest, is particularly proud to be nominated in both categories alongside animation giants like Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, Sony, Blue Sky and Illumination and had this to say:

“It’s a huge honour for Triggerfish to be nominated  alongside the greatest animation studios in the world and an achievement,  not just for us, but for South Africa’s industry as a whole”.

Based in Cape Town, Triggerfish is one of the continent’s most innovative companies, producing Pixar-quality, 3D animated feature films at a fraction of the cost of Hollywood equivalents. Check out the trailer here:
