I was very excited when I saw the first trailers for G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. But now, I’m kind of getting bored. It didn’t help that the film was delayed from this summer to next March. All the action sequences and impressive visuals have been burned into my mind and this trailer does little to add to what has come before it.
I am probably one of the few who enjoyed the first G.I. JOE as the mindless action film it was. Which is evident in the fact that almost the entire cast has been dropped for this sequel. Quite a brave approach when you consider they are following the same story, with the president of the US being impersonated by Zartan. I’ll certainly still be giving this effort a chance, as they are certainly raising the stakes with London being obliterated.
G.I. JOE: RETALIATION is set for release 29th March 2013. It stars Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum, Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki, RZA, Jonathan Pryce, Lee Byung Hun, and Ray Stevenson.
Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
