In what is looking to be a female version of DELIVERANCE, Kate Bosworth, Lake Bell and Katie Aselton join forces in BLACK ROCK, where they play a group of three childhood friends that visit one of their old getaways. While on the island they encounter a group of hunters, but when things get dangerous, the women must learn to hunt or be hunted. The trailer certainly packs a punch, but for me it will all boil down the the characters and their responses to certain situations. It looks impressive, and you can already feel the chemistry between the the three leads, but will they turn into convincing physical threats? Star Aselton also directs the feature.
BLACK ROCK is released 17th May 2013. It stars Kate Bosworth, Lake Bell, Katie Aselton, Will Bouvier, Jay Paulson, and Anslem Richardson.
