The Wayans really are an acquired taste. Apparently comedy is their forte yet, I find their ‘comedies’ punishing to sit through. Admittedly I laughed my ass off a number of times during WHITE CHICKS (I know, I hang my head in shame) but the only reason for that was the delight in seeing the hilarious Terry Crews as a black man with a penchant for white ladies (come on, even you must have bust a gust as he belted out the Vanessa Carlton classic A Thousand Miles). LITTLE MAN however, has to be possibly the worst cinematic experiences of my lifetime and I’m usually there three times a bloody week!
We recently had the woeful first trailer for Marlon Wayans’ latest spoof A HAUNTED HOUSE, which mocks the familiar cliched found-footage/horror genre of recent times. Yes it looks desperately dire, and frankly utter shite but much like Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer’s crapfests, you know it’s going to make a mint. Thankfully the only Wayans’ involved in this certain atrocity is Marlon (so bloody good in REQUIEM FOR A DREAM, so terrible in everything else), who not only stars but is half responsible for the screenplay. Michael Tiddes is the man at the helm.
Here’s the awful first poster for the shit film expected to take a dump on cinemas screens 11th January 2013. Cedric The Entertainer (or rather Cedric The Unfunny Parasite) co-stars. As you’ll expect, I’ll only be at the cinema twice that week.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
