After a successful year as one of the highlights in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, Anne Hathaway is all the rage. With a rumoured starring role in Steven Spielberg’s ROBOPOCALYPSE possibly on the cards, she is also being touted as starring in THE LOW SELF-ESTEEM OF LIZZIE GILLESPIE, a romantic comedy which would star Hathaway as Lizzie Gillespie, a woman with low self esteem who is left with only the worst guys to date. I think it would be quite a stretch for Hathway to play someone with low self esteem, and I’m not saying that beautiful talented women can’t have low self esteem, but is a predominantly female audience going to accept her in the role?
THE LOW SELF-ESTEEM OF LIZZIE GILLESPIE is based on a screenplay by Mindy Kaling and Brent Forrester, one of the stars and producers of THE US OFFICE (or for those of you in the US, just THE OFFICE). Kaling and Forrester will both executive produce along with Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake from Godd Universe and John Malkovich who will be producing through his own production company Mr. Mudd Productions.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
