The 1940s. Police officers. Ryan Gosling. GANGSTER SQUAD has it all. After the horrific TDKR shootings earlier this summer we all believed we’d have to wait even longer for Ruben Fleischer’s (ZOMBIELAND, 30 MINUTES OR LESS) new film – but that doesn’t seem to be so, as new behind-the-scenes stills have been released, giving us a cheeky glimpse at the stars in action.
Based on true characters and events (and adapted from articles written by Paul Lieberman), the story focuses on an intense battle between a group of LA cops and some rather dirty gangsters. Starring Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Nick Nolte, Anthony Mackie, Giovanni Ribisi and Emma Stone, the film had to have several scenes reshot after the summer cinema shootings. However, this doesn’t seem to have slowed down the release of GANGSTER SQUAD, as it is due from 11th January 2013. With Fleischer describing the film as ‘a modern take on the tradition’, we are certainly in for a treat!

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
