Top DVD Releases for Autumn

As summer slowly draws to a close, picking up the latest DVD releases can be a real treat for those autumn evenings curled up indoors. Here are some of the best new films you can now take home:

The Woman in Black

A top choice for Halloween, The Woman in Black brings Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe into a mature role as the subdued Arthur Kipps. This inexperienced London solicitor must investigate the affairs of the deceased Mrs Drablow, taking a trip to a swampy, coastal area of the Midlands. However, Kipps quickly learns that this is no normal expedition when mysterious deaths appear to be following him around and his own son is brought into danger. The Woman in Black will have you on the edge of your seat and leave you with a chill you can’t quite shake off.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

Following the story of a nine year old boy as he attempts to come to terms with the death of his father in the aftermath of 9/11, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is a real heartbreaker. Oskar scours New York in search of a lock that will match a key he believes holds the answers to aspects of his father’s life, meeting all sorts of interesting characters along the way. Will his impossible task be in vain? Or will he finally feel at peace? This is a film that will have all asking questions about the meaning of life.

The Muppets

For something a little more light-hearted, The Muppets is sure to have you singing along with beloved characters Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. The Muppet Theatre is under threat since it sits on top of valuable oil resources and a magnificent show must be produced in order to save it from destruction by tycoon Tex Richman. Not just for the kids, this will have adults in stiches too!
