The biopic is always a favourite amongst the Oscar voters, so when a role pops up, there is always a scramble amongst actors to get involved. The story of legendary singer with the silky vocals, Nina Simone, will soon be seen on the big-screen. COLUMBIANA and AVATAR beauty Zoe Saldana will play The High Priestess Of Soul who was responsible for classic hits Feeling Good, I Put A Spell On You and My Baby Just Cares For me.
She’ll appear in the simply titled NINA, next to Brit actor David Oyelowo, who will portray her longterm manager Clifton Henderson. Shooting will begin 16th October for a release later next year. The film will be written and directed by Cynthia Mort, who makes her directorial debut.
