Charles Dickens’ classic novel GREAT EXPECTATIONS is set for yet another big-screen outing, and it has released an impressive first trailer. Directed by Mike Newell (DONNIE BRASCO), and adapted by David Nicholls (ONE DAY) this latest version stars Jeremy Irvine (WAR HORSE) as Pip, orphan turned rich-boy, and British film royalty Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, Jason Flemyng, and Robbie Coltrane. Premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film is set for release in the UK 30th November, and looking at the trailer below, we think it’ll be a slick affair.
Do we need another version of GREAT EXPECTATIONS? Surely David Lean’s is the perfect adaptation? Let us know your thoughts.

Sam is a bloody lovely lad born and raised in Bristol (he’s still there and can’t escape). Favourite films include THE LOST BOYS, DRIVE, FIGHT CLUB and COMMANDO, well pretty much any 1980s Arnie film you can throw his way…even RED SONJA. Sam once cancelled a Total Film subscription after they slagged off Teen Wolf. He resubscribed 2 days later.
