Obscure Marvel Superhero ‘The Human Fly’ Set To Take Flight!

Whilst Marvel’s THE HUMAN FLY might not create the type of ‘buzz’ usually reserved for the likes of SPIDER-MAN or CAPTAIN AMERICA, he’ll soon be unleashed in his very own blockbuster. The relatively-unknown character ran from 1977-79 in 19-issue series.  An independent studio is currently developing the project, which will hopefully see him doing a lot more that just hanging around dog-muck and dustbins.

Alan Brewer and Steven Goldmann have picked up the rights from Marvel, who have obviously no interest in adapting the character in their own unique way. Perhaps the property is a little too close to their in-development ANT-MAN feature that has Edgar Wright attached? The character was inspired by the real-life stuntman Joe Ramacieri and has a script written by Tony Babinski. So, will you be swarming to see THE HUMAN FLY when it arrives in cinemas? Or will you be swatting it out of existence? As always. let us know!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
