Ben Stiller is back, both in front and behind the camera, in this age-old tale THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY. The film, based on James Thurber’s classic novel, will be the ZOOLANDER director and stars fifth effort at juggling both big-screen acting and directing. Stiller will play the title character, a shy photo manager who passes his monotonous time by daydreaming of exciting adventures – only to be sucked into a real-life one, while in search of a missing negative.
Joining Stiller, will be the brilliant Kristen Wiig, Patton Oswalt, Adam Scott, Kathryn Hahn, Shirley MacLaine and Sean Penn. Below we have the first images of an unrecognisable Stiller, opposite BRIDESMAIDS star Wiig. The make-up work looks incredible. If only Clint Eastwood hired this guy for important biopic J. EDGAR. We could have taken his characters and story with the seriousness it deserved.
THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY is expected Christmas 2013.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

“The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” was not a novel, as stated in your story; it was a short story.
