James Patterson’s heroic detective ALEX CROSS was previously the subject of two so-so films starring Morgan Freeman. The character has featured in a total of eighteen novels from 1993-2011, with Freeman playing lead in adaptations of the first two novels in the series, with KISS THE GIRLS and ALONG CAME A SPIDER. Now American writer/director/producer and actor Tyler Perry will step into Freeman’s shoes for the rebooted big-screen franchise. THN has the first set of images from the psychological-thriller with the now simple title of… ALEX CROSS.
If the film is a success, there are certainly enough crimes for Perry’s Cross to sink his teeth into. These shots certainly look promising, with LOST’s Matthew Fox in particular, as the films psychotic serial-killer ‘Picasso’ seems frighteningly unrecognisable!
XXX and THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS Rob Cohen directs with a cast that includes Rachel Nichols, Jean Reno, Edward Burns, John C. McGinley, Carman Ejogo and Giancarlo Esposito.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
