Director J.A Bayona (THE ORPHANAGE) makes his English-language film debut with THE IMPOSSIBLE which has released its first full trailer. Dubbed in Spanish for Bayona’s native land it’s still not too difficult to understand the premise.
Set before, during and the after the Thailand Tsunami of 2004 the film follows Maria (Watts THE RING, KING KONG), Henry (McGregor TRAINSPOTTING, HAYWIRE) and their three sons as they deal with the tragic events of Boxing Day 2004.
The trailer is mighty impressive and whilst excited isn’t the correct term we’re certainly fascinated to see what this turns out like, and being based on a true story I’m going to set my heart-strings to plucked before I enter the cinema. But don’t take our word for it give the trailer a look below and let us know what you think.
THE IMPOSSIBLE will hopefully be released later this year, with no date currently confirmed.

Sam is a bloody lovely lad born and raised in Bristol (he’s still there and can’t escape). Favourite films include THE LOST BOYS, DRIVE, FIGHT CLUB and COMMANDO, well pretty much any 1980s Arnie film you can throw his way…even RED SONJA. Sam once cancelled a Total Film subscription after they slagged off Teen Wolf. He resubscribed 2 days later.
