A great cast is being assembled for the biopic of schizophrenic millionaire John Du Pont, a man who built an Olympic wrestling training camp using his wealth; only to go on a murder one of its stars. MONEYBALL and CAPOTE director Bennett Miller will helm the fascinating but ultimately tragic tale of Du Pont and sporting star friend David Schultz. The title of FOXCATCHER comes from camp’s name of Team Foxcatcher.
The already cast Steve Carell, will swap his usual comic genius, for the much more serious dramatic role as the lead Du Pont. He will be joined by upcoming AVENGERS ASSEMBLE, and ZODIAC actor Mark Ruffalo as his friend and victim David Schultz, the man he shot in 1996. Channing Tatum will take the role of Schultz’ brother Michael. Shooting will begin later this year for a release next year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
