Late last year, RIDDICK was in pre-production and ready to roll before cameras. It then appeared, finance had been pulled as serious doubts remained as to whether the project was really worth the risk. After a few weeks, director David Twohy and producer/star Vin Diesel’s passion to return to the futuristic world of anti-hero Richard B. Riddick, was back up and running.
Thankfully, fans of the character (especially Diesel’s first outing; the brilliant PITCH BLACK), will finally get to see Riddick back on the big-screen after the overblown and disappointing sequel, THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK.
Here we have a couple more images from the set of the film, coming via Vin Diesel’s Facebook account.
Joining Diesel in the film that is expected sometime next year, will be Karl Urban, Jordi Molla, Katee Sackhoff, Keri Hilson and Bokeem Woodbine.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
