She wiped the floor with everyone in Steven Soderbergh’s action spectacular HAYWIRE and now MMA fighter Gina Carano will follow her acting début with IN THE BLOOD. BLUE CRUSH and DARK TIDE director John Stockwell will helm the action-thriller that will see Carano’s grieving wife delivering her own brand of justice, while dispatching with those responsible for her husband’s kidnap and murder. Stockwell told The Hollywood Reporter:
This role will showcase not only Gina’s fighting skills, but also her acting abilities as her character struggles to reign in her violent past.
The studio producing the film are in negotiations to bring on-board the very stunt team that made HAYWIRE’s action set-pieces so believable on the big screen. They are hoping for a TAKEN-style hit that will catapult their new lead into many more features and possibly creating an ongoing franchise.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
