Director McG who brought you the likes of SUPERNATURAL (2005) THE O.C. and CHUCK, is back once again with a comedy action flick by the name of THIS MEANS WAR.
With a cast featuring Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, Tom Hardy and Chelsea Handler, THIS MEANS WAR may or may not tickle your funny bones. Upon first viewing of the trailer the opening thirty seconds are fairly unclear as to what is actually going on and why actors Chris Pine and Tom Hardy are even secret agents.
All in all it seems as if dingle berries Pine and Hardy lust after Witherspoon and in an attempt to make the film wackier they’ve written the two main characters as some sort of agents.
More than anything THIS MEANS WAR looks a little aggravating and if it weren’t for the teasing potential to see snippets of sexual capers involving Reese Witherspoon, I’m not sure how much interest people would take in it.
The film is allegedly about two inseparable CIA partners who, until Witherspoon is entered into the equation, are the best of buddies. Suffice to say a pretty girl tears them apart and they unleash convenient hell on each other with gadgetry supplied to them via their cushy jobs.
THIS MEANS WAR will open on 17th February 2012 nationwide, but I’m not sure how kindly it will be received. But don’t take my word for it, see what you think by watching the trailer below.
