Comedian Russell Brand and FOOTLOOSE star Julianne Hough will star in an untitled comedy written and directed by JUNO creator Diablo Cody. The film — previously titled LAMB OF GOD — ‘follows a sheltered young woman (Hough) who loses her faith after a plane crash and decides to go to Las Vegas to experience the wild side of life. On her journey, she meets an unlikely companion (Brand) who inadvertently helps her find her true self.’
Mason Novack (500 DAYS OF SUMMER) and President of Mandate Pictures, Nathan Kahane (WHIP IT), will produce the film. The project marks the third collaboration between Cody, Novack and Mandate, having previously worked on JUNO and the upcoming YOUNG ADULT.
Casting is expected to begin almost immediately and the untitled project could begin filming by the end of this year.
