THE SMURFS has already taken a whopping $135 million in box-office receipts which has led to Sony Pictures greenlighting a sequel, and even providing us with a release date: August 2nd, 2013. I haven’t seen the film as yet, but the original Smurfs movie (this one), was one of my very first movie experiences – I even had the LP.
The new film, which stars Hank Azaria and one Katy Perry, has done hugely well, and has surprisingly outperformed films like COWBOYS AND ALIENS.
