Laurence Fishburne has landed a role in the upcoming Superman reboot, MAN OF STEEL. The former Morpheus is to play Daily Planet Editor-in-Chief Perry White (and boss to reporters Clark Kent and Lois Lane), according to EW. The role had previously been played by Jackie Cooper in the Christopher Reeve movies, and Frank Langella in 2006’s SUPERMAN RETURNS. This will mark Fishburne’s first film role following his departure from CSI. As far as THN is concerned, the ever-reliable Fishburne is a first-rate choice, and he is sure to bring a touch of class to the proceedings.
MAN OF STEEL is directed by Zack Snyder, produced by Christopher Noaln and stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, and Diane Lane. It is set for a summer 2013 release.
