The annual list of Hollywood’s top earners has been released by Vanity Fair. Topping the list is Avatar director/ writer/ producer/ 3D pioneer extraordinaire James Cameron, who banked a whopping £159.4 million last year. Wow! Just behind him; well, actually along way behind hime is Johnny Depp with £62 million, then Steven Spielberg with £49.6 million and then in fourth place our own Christopher Nolan, who earned £44.3 million in 2010, largely thanks to Inception, which bagged him the majority of his loot. Leonardo DiCaprio rounded off the top five. The poor actor, who also headlined Nolan’s movie, only earned £38.5 million.
Twilight actress Kristen Stewart was the top female earner, landing the 13th spot with £17.7 million.
Vanity Fair’s list is limited to “creative figures” and does not include earnings from “non-film-related projects”. Here’s the top five layed out all nice for you.

- 3. Steven Spielberg – $80m (£49.6m)
- 4. Christopher Nolan – $71.5m (£44.3m)
