Dreamworks Pictures have announced that Steven Spielberg has chosen his next project. The legendary director will helm a movie entitled ROBOPOCALYPSE for the studio, which should start shooting in January 2012, which actualy seems quite a way off.
The film is based on a book by Daniel H. Wilson, and has been adapted for the big screen by Drew Goddard.
“‘Robopocalypse’ embodies an imaginative story of a robot rebellion unleashed against the human race,” said Mark Sourian, co-President of Production for Dreamworks Studios. “This is a project we immediately sparked to and with Steven directing it we knew it was in the best possible hands to bring it to worldwide audiences.”
Spielberg will complete work on THE ADVENTURES OF TIN TIN: SECRET OF THE UNICORN and WAR HORSE before starting on ROBOPOCALYPSE. Disney’s Touchstone will distribute the movie in 2013.
