Craig Brewer, he who brought the fantastic Hustle & Flow to the big-screen, along with the also very good Black Snake Moan, is to tackle the noughties (are we still in the noughties?) remake of Footloose, according to Variety. Brewer also rewrote the screenplay for the film that has had two leading men attached to it (they have now both departed) in the form of Zac Efron and Chace Crawford.
Who knows as to who will star now, but casting is going to kick off right away, so expect an announcement in the next couple of weeks.
The original Footloose (pictured) starred Kevin Bacon as a kid from Chicago who moves to a conservative town that has banned dancing and rock music.
