The writers of the soon to kick into shoot mode The Sitter, starring Jonah Hill, have been snapped up by Paramount Pictures to write the big-screen version of Baywatch, based on the classic TV series that ran from 1989-1999.
Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka will step up to pen the highly-anticipated, and long-mooted project for Paramount, who are now to kick the pic into production this year for a big summer 2011 release. Jeremy Garelick (writer of The Break-Up) will make his directorial debut on the film.
The Hollywood Reporter’s Risky Business blog says that the studio are after a film somewhere between the tone of Charlie’s Angels and Starsky and Hutch.
