Penelope Cruz to join Johnny Depp in new Pirates of the Caribbean

The Hollywood Reporter’s fantastic Heat Vision blog is reporting that Spanish lovely Penelope Cruz is in negotiations to join Johnny Depp and co. in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

The flick, full title Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, is once again produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, though this time is helmed by Rob Marshall (Nine, Chicago). Johnny Depp returned as the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow. The film has a release date set for May 20th, 2011 and this time the action is said to revolve around the Fountain of Youth. Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot wrote the screenplay.

The Heat Vision blog does not reveal much about Cruz’s role at all so we’ll all have to wait. We do know that the film will go before the cameras in Hawaii (and not the Caribbean) this sumer.

This is gonna be a great movie, with johnny depp, geoffrey rush, and penelope cruz, all in the same movie?!. That sounds like an award winning movie to me!!!!!. Who would play blackbeard though, since this movie will somewhat be based off the book called “on stranger tides”, thats written by the authur tim powers???. Because blackbeard is the villain!!!.
