James Cameron has officially reached out to the filmmakers behind Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame as the superhero ensemble passed the second highest-grossing movie at the international box-office – his 1997 blockbuster Titanic.
Here’s what the filmmaker posted on his social platforms late Wednesday:

‘Endgame’ now has a total of $2.27 billion in global takings (at the time of writing) compared to Titanic‘s $2.1 billion. The Marvel movie now has its sights set on Cameron’s other box-office behemoth Avatar, which bagged a whopping $2.78 billion around the world ten years ago. We are in no doubt that Endgame will reach that milestone, and even approach that magic figure of $3 billion. After all, the film has only been on general release for just about two weeks.
Marvel movies make up exactly half of the all-time global top ten earners – all of the other Avengers movies, ‘Assemble’, ‘Age Of Ultron’, and ‘Infinity War’ are in there, while the superb Black Panther sits at the ten spot. Disney as a whole make up all but two of the entries – Jurassic World and Fast and Furious 7 (both Universal) the couple of exceptions.
Avengers: Endgame was received with massive approval from critics and huge fan reception upon its release. The movie officially ended the current phase of movies, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe will live on when the next movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home hits in a couple of months time.
