The pilot for the Game Of Thrones spin-off is scheduled to shoot later this year, so reports Deadline. The trade says that filming will commence in Belfast, Northern Ireland in October with a working title being ‘The Long Night’.
They add that the pilot will film at The Paint Hall in Belfast’s Titanic Quarters in the city, a location used for many other productions, including Game Of Thrones.
‘The Long Night’, which may not be its final title, is the creation of Jane Goldman (Kingsman) and Game Of Thrones‘ George R.R. Martin and is written by Goldman.
Set thousands of years before Game Of Thrones, the potential series will follow “the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.”
“None of the characters or actors from Game of Thrones will appear in the new show”, so said Martin earlier this year.
More as it comes in.
