NathanJohn Carter, who plays Ronnie Kray in the eagerly anticipated The Krays – Dead Man Walking met one of the people who knew Ronnie best on Friday night when he rubbed shoulders with Freddie Foreman, the gangster nicknamed ‘Brown Bread Fred’ at the premiere of the new documentary about Foreman’s life.

The documentary, entitled Fred is co-produced by Steve Wraith, who was a consultant and acted in the new Krays film.

Here’s the trailer.

Foreman commented: “It was nice to meet NathanJohn with my friend Steve Wraith. Steve mentioned that he had just shot the new Kray film and spoke highly of NathanJohn’s performance. He certainly looks the part and I am looking forward to seeing his portrayal at the premiere.”

Wraith said: “It was an honour to be asked to be a consultant on The Krays – Dead Man Walking. I visited the Krays in prison for 11 years and became close friends and have a good knowledge of their life and crimes. It was an opportunity to work on both sides of the camera and I think Kray buffs will love this film.”

Also in attendance was the director of the new Krays film Richard John Taylor along with executive producer Peter Oxley and co-star Nick Ball.

The Krays – Dead Man Walking is due for release later this year. It stars Rita Simons, Chris Ellison, Josh Myers, Janine Nerissa, Marc Pickering and Guy Henry.
