There are no less than seven Child’s Play movies out there presently, and now it looks like the franchise is moving towards the smaller screen as a new television series is announced.
The first Child’s Play movie was released all of the way back in 1988. It revolved around a widowed mother who gives her son a doll for his birthday, unaware that the doll is possessed by the soul of an infamous serial killer named Chucky.
According to Bloody Disgusting, filmmaker Don Mancini and producer David Kirschner are plotting an original series based on the franchise, which will be comprised of eight one hour episodes.
The word is that the series will hit screens as the franchise celebrates its 30th anniversary later this year and Brad Dourif is said to be returning to voice the role of Chucky.
More news on the new TV series as we get it.
