The Wrap is reporting that David S. Goyer, writer of The Dark Knight trilogy, is in talks to direct the Masters Of The Universe movie over at Sony Pictures. Goyer is the man behind the latest draft of the screenplay, which is based upon the 1980s toy line from Mattel.
Set on the planet Eternia, the story follows a warrior named Prince Adam who turns into the heroic He-Man and battles a villain named Skeletor out to conquer Castle Grayskull.
The property was a huge cartoon back in the 80s and was also adapted into a movie starring Dolph Lundgren back in 1987.
There has been no official comment from the studio on Goyer’s involvement, but we’ll keep you informed.
