There’s no denying that Blade Runner 2049 is one of the most memorable and visually striking films of the year and while the film’s director Denis Villeneuve is going off to redo Frank Herbert’s Dune next, he has said that he may be interested in visiting another sci-fi franchise. Possibly.
Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Villeneuve was asked as to whether he would be up for a visit to a to a galaxy far, far away?
“It’s something that, again it’s like, I would be intrigued,” Villeneuve said on the podcast. “I don’t know, it’s very difficult. What is dangerous with ‘Star Wars‘ right now is its become its own vocabulary. I would love to see them — I think ‘Rogue One‘ was a very interesting attempt to get out of the mold.”
“I think it would be a great idea to get out of there and to go on a new part of the galaxy, that I would be open to,” he added.
Intriguing. Obviously, we are in for a lot more Star Wars movies in the coming years and we dig the possibility of one with the vision of someone like Villeneuve.
