Donald Glover and James Earl Jones will star in the forthcoming live-action version of The Lion King for director Jon Favreau. The news was announced this weekend via Favreau’s popular Twitter account.
Glover will play the character of the young Simba in the film, while Jones will assume the role of Mufasa. The legendary actor, who is also the voice of Darth Vader, famously voiced the character in the 1994 original.

There are still some big characters to cast in the planned film, which Disney will release following the successes of Cinderella, The Jungle Book and the forthcoming Beauty and the Beast, which hits next month? Will they cast Jereemy Irons as Scar? Who will play Timon and Pumbaa? More as it comes our way.
