Breck Eisner is in talks to direct the latest version of Friday The 13th over at Paramount Pictures, so reports Deadline. Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes will be producing the film, which will arrive in cinemas in 2017.
The movie is written Nick Antosca (Hannibal) is a full reboot of the beloved horror franchise, which revolve around the exploits of pop culture superstar Jason Voorhees. Vorhees perished at Camp Crystal Lake as a young boy due to the negligence of the camp staff. Decades later, the lake is rumored to be “cursed” and is the setting for a series of mass murders. So far, there have been a total of 12 movies in the franchise, the last of which was released in 2009 – another Michael Bay production which was directed by Marcus Nispel.
Eisner’s last credit was last year’s The Last Witch Hunter with Vin Diesel, as well as The Crazies and Sahara.
