True Blood may have ended on television, but the hit show is set to become a new stage musical.
Novellist Elizabeth Scott is writing the lyrics and the book for the planned production, while Nathan Barr, who provided much of the music on the original show, will be handling the music aspect of the new show.
HBO’s True Blood by Alan Ball, based on the The Southern Vampire Mysteries series of novels by Charlaine Harris, ran for seven seasons and ended in 2014. It revolved around the adventures of Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a telepathic waitress with an otherworldly quality. Alexander Skarsgard, Stephen Moyer and Ryan Kwanten were also amongst the primary cast.
No news on when the potential musical will land, but we’ll keep you updated.
