14-year-old actor Michael Barbieri has joined the cast of the soon-to-start-shooting Spider-Man: Homecoming.
He joins the already cast iss Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Michael Keaton as an unnamed villain and Zendaya as a character named Michelle. Laura Harrier and Tony Revolori will also star.
Barbieri will be seen in Ira Sachs’ upcoming Little Men, which we saw at this year’s Berlin Film Festival (he’s one of the best things about it). There’s no word on who he will play in the Spider-Man movie as Sony and Marvel Studios are keeping their cards very close to their chests.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to kick off production very soon for a July 7, 2017 release. Jon Watts will direct.
More as we get it.
