‘The Boy Next Door’ Creeps Out Jennifer Lopez

We’ve had plenty and dozens of many crazy lady pictures over the years. In fact, they are some of my favourite films, SINGLE WHITE FEMALE, THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE and FATAL ATTRACTION being just a few. So now let’s see a guy lose his mind over his very attractive next door neighbour on THE BOY NEXT DOOR. Jennifer Lopez plays a teacher in a troubled marriage who regrettably falls for THE BOY NEXT DOOR. However, once she tries to end things, it becomes apparent he’s a manipulative, sadistic, and down right evil piece of work. The trailer offers a look at Lopez’s convincing performance, but also seems to show a bit too much in terms of where the film is going and how far the titular boy is willing to go.

THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS and DRAGONHEART director, Rob Cohen takes the helm of this thriller which looks like it could be same-same nonsense such as THE ROOMMATE, or perhaps a lot of ridiculous fun a la OBSESSION. Fingers crossed for the latter, and with lines like “I love your mom’s cookies,” and “It got really wet here,” I’m sure it will be.

THE BOY NEXT DOOR is released 23rd January in the US and 30th January in the UK. It stars Jennifer Lopez, Ryan Guzman, John Corbett, Kristin Chenoweth, and Bailey Chase.
